Since the 1930s,humourous literature has flourished under the advocacy of Lin Yutang and others,and has had a vigorous and protracted impact in the fierce debate.Humour literature in the literary world at that time mixed reputation and the heat.So far,many researches and discussions have been carried out around the main publications advocating humour,writers and works with humourous style.However,the famous humourist Lao Xiang of the 1930s was overshadowed.Therefore,this paper attempts to return to the historical context,using the method of historical origin study to verify and comb the source of "humour",and reflect on the main historical process of the construction of humourous literature Question.At the same time,we take the humour works of Lao Xiang as the starting point,explore its unique humour view and "Yellow mud" style of humour,and focus on exploring the"humour" type of sculpture in the field of popular literature and anti-Japanese war literature,so as to point out the unique value of Lao Xiang in the history of modern literature,and supplement side of Chinese modern humour literature.The thesis consists of six parts,which are the introduction,the four chapters of the text and the conclusion.The introduction part first briefly introduces Lao Xiang's personal life and important works,and combs the research on Lao Xiang at home and abroad,and clarifies the research significance,research methods and ideas of this article.The first chapter discusses what humour is.First of all,this paper makes an analysis of the research focus of "humour",and analyzes the specific naming process after its introduction into China as a loanword.Then it combs the concept of"humour "in modern Chinese literature and its important problems in the process of theoretical construction.Finally,it expounds Lao Xiang's inclusive humour view of"humour has no stereotype".The second chapter systematically explores the origin of Lao Xiang's humour.The author explores how Lao Xiang's own humour elements,unique geographical space:Beijing,special historical background,rich folk culture,traditional literature and drama resources and analyzes have spawned and influenced the humour literature of Lao Xiang.The third chapter analyzes the humour style of Lao Xiang and its generation process.First,through comparison,it points out the distinctive "rustic" in Lao Xiang's humour literature,and then summarizes his humourous style as "Yellow Mud"-style humour.Then the reasons for the formation of this humourous style are discussed,with emphasis on the influence of its experience in Dingxian Association for the Promotion of Mass Education on his creation.After that,the background of Lao Xiang's humourous literature is sympathy,and the problems of peasants' life and thoughts pointed out with a"tearful smile" are analyzed.Finally,it discusses the serious gist of mass education behind the humour.The fourth chapter introduces the impact of the Anti-Japanese War on Lao Xiang's humourous literature,which is mainly divided into three stages.In the first stage,before the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War,Lao Xiang used humour as a weapon to express his protests.In the second stage,Peiping fell to the enemy.With the increasingly severe war situation,Lao Xiang was not interested in humour,and his humour style was concealed.Lao Xiang changed from "humourous writer" to"popular literary writer of the War of Resistance against Japan",focusing on the creation of anti-Japanese popular literary art such as drums,minors,and ballads.In the third stage,at the end of the 40 years,Lao Xiang belief in the inevitable victory of the Anti-Japanese War has become more firm,the elements of humour returned.Until the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan,his humourous literature showed the characteristics of eclectic and integrated.The conclusion summarizes Lao Xiang's humourous literature,especially emphasizes the uniqueness of his "Yellow Mud "-style humour in Chinese modern humourous literature,affirming his contribution to the localization of humourous literature,.It also points out that there is still a wide space for Lao Xiang and his humourous literature to be explored.
