| With the rapid development of Chinese education in the globalization,the educational exchanges between different countries become more and more important The influence of multiculturalism gets into many scholars’ sight.Chinese education industry inevitably faces some problems and challenges in its development.It is urgent to find solutions and counter measuresThus,more emphasis should be laid on the translation of educational management texts.This translation project takes the first six chapters from Classroom Management for Elementary Teachers as source text.Based on years of their teaching experience and survey results,the authors of the book,Dr.Carolyn Evertson and Edmund Emmer,analyzed the problems in classroom management in primary schools,proposed effective solutions to improve the quality of teaching.This book has practicability for classroom management in elementary schools and shares the relevant knowledge of classroom management with educators.Since this book is informative,the difficulty in translating it is due to the use of a large number of terms of educational theories and many complex sentences.In order to solve the problems during translation,the author chooses semantic translation and communicative translation theory of Peter Newmark as the theoretical guidance for this translation practice and carries out some detailed analyses of 19 typical examples in the translation from the perspectives of lexical,syntactic and textual categoriesThis translation project is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the background,purpose and significance of the topic.The second chapter describes the key links in the translation project in detail through three processes:work analysis before translation,description of key points in translation and summary after translation.Chapter Three presents an overview of Newmark’s translation theory.In Chapter Four,some specific cases in translation are selected and analyzed from the perspectives of vocabulary,sentence and text.In addition,semantic translation and communicative translation theories are applied to summarize and sort out the difficulties in translation projects.The last chapter is a summary of this translation project. |
