The contemporary society is the information society,in the field of education,the use of information has become increasingly prominent.Multimedia based on network and computer technology has naturally become an important carrier of contemporary education.With the development of curriculum reform in senior high school,multimedia courseware begins to combine with teaching as an important way of multimedia technology.Then it is also an inevitable trend to apply multimedia courseware to English reading teaching in senior high school.Multimedia courseware,as an effective auxiliary way of teaching,is widely used by teachers in senior English reading teaching.The application of multimedia courseware not only brings opportunities but also challenges to English reading teaching in senior high school.Therefore,this thesis investigates the application of multimedia courseware in senior high school English reading teaching.This study focuses on the following three questions:1.What are the characteristics of the application of multimedia courseware in the three stages of senior high school English reading(pre-reading,while-reading,post-reading)?2.What are the views and attitudes of students and teachers on the application of multimedia courseware in high school English reading teaching?3.What is the current situation of making and using multimedia courseware of teachers in high school English reading teaching?This thesis studies the application of multimedia courseware in English reading class in senior high school by means of classroom observation,questionnaire and interview.The questionnaire was conducted among 200 students and 60 teachers of No.1 high school in Mudanjiang city,and 6 English teachers were interviewed.SPSS 21.0 was used to analyze the collected data.Therefore,it is hoped to better understand the characteristics,advantages,problems,and causes of the problems in English reading teaching of senior high school.And then make the multimedia courseware more reasonable and effective in senior high school English reading teaching.The research of the study can be summarized as follows: Firstly,in the three stages of reading,teachers use a large number of text mode in making multimedia courseware,rarely combined with picture,video and audio modes.It does not give full play to the characteristics of multimedia omnidirectional input.Secondly,students and teachers are generally optimistic about the application of multimedia courseware in English reading teaching in senior high school.However,some teachers are not optimistic that multimedia courseware can improve students' reading skills and guide students to learn independently.Some students think that their participation is not high when applying multimedia courseware in English reading courses.Thirdly,in the process of making and using multimedia courseware,some teachers do not follow the principles of making and using multimedia courseware,so there are some undeniable problems.In view of the research results,this thesis provides some teaching enlightenment for teachers.It is hoped that teachers can give full play to the advantages of multimedia courseware in teaching,avoid the negative value of courseware in practical application,actively explore the effective combination means of foreign language teaching and multimedia courseware,and maximize their respective advantages.
