Research On Vocabulary Of Tianmen Dialect In Hubei Province

Tianmen City is located in the south-central part of Hubei Province and in the north of Jianghan Plain.It borders Hanchuan and Yingcheng in the east,Jingshan and Zhongxiang in the north,and Xiantao,Qianjiang and Jingmen across the Han River in the south and west.Tianmen is the main node city in the Hanjiang River basin,a tributary of the Yangtze River,and is an important transportation hub connecting the north and the south and connecting east and west.The Atlas of Chinese Languages(1987 edition)classifies Tianmen dialect as the southwest dialect-Wutianpian.Judging from the area where Tianmen dialect is located,Tianmen dialect is located in the contact area between southwest mandarin,Jianghuai mandarin and gan dialect.Tianmen dialect belongs to the Wudian dialect of southwest mandarin,but it is connected to Chengdu-Chongqing dialect in the west and Hubei-northern dialect in the north.the waterway along the east is closely adjacent to Jianghuai mandarin.the contact and integration of languages make them influence each other.Tianmen dialect is actually a sub-dialect in the transition zone between northern dialect and gan dialect,and it is an important hub for the development of Chinese from west to east and from north to south.However,there is no systematic description and analysis of Tianmen dialect vocabulary in the existing literature,which is very inconsistent with the dialect status of Tianmen dialect.In this paper,the vocabulary of Tianmen dialect in Hubei province is taken as the object of investigation.on the basis of referring to a large number of documents and field investigation,the glossary of dialect investigation is adopted as the basis.The geography,architecture and history of Tianmen dialect are comprehensively investigated and the vocabulary of Tianmen dialect is sorted out.By using comparative analysis,on the basis of investigation,the dialect facts are investigated and compared with Putonghua,dialects and archaic languages to reveal some laws of vocabulary development and evolution in Tianmen dialect.Using the method of cultural reference,this paper discusses the cultural connotation of Tianmen dialect vocabulary.Starting with the vocabulary,two-part allegorical sayings and common sayings of Tianmen dialect,this paper discusses the geographical environment culture,folk customs culture and farming culture of Tianmen dialect vocabulary.Reflect language from cultural connotation,and examine interpersonal communication methods such as knowledge expression,belief expression and self-expression in language in combination with cultural background.This article is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which mainly introduces the geographical population and historical reform of Tianmen City,the general situation of Tianmen dialect,the research status of Tianmen dialect,the theory,methods and data sources of research and application.The second chapter is the vocabulary classification table of Tianmen dialect,which is divided into27 categories and is used to record the vocabulary of Tianmen dialect systematically.The third chapter is a synchronic study of Tianmen dialect vocabulary.The word-formation features are mainly classified and analyzed from single pure words and compound words.The morphological characteristics of words are mainly analyzed from the differences of syllable number and morpheme.The characteristics of lexical meaning focus on the differences of lexical meaning,lexical color meaning and lexical grammatical meaning.The fourth chapter makes a diachronic investigation of Tianmen dialect from three aspects: ancient inherited words,variant words and newly created words,and analyzes the characteristics and evolution rules of Tianmen dialect.The fifth chapter discusses the pragmatic features and cultural connotation of Tianmen dialect vocabulary,and discusses the geographical environment culture,folk customs culture and farming culture of Tianmen dialect vocabulary.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,which mainly analyzes the basic understanding of this article and the existing problems in writing.
