Study On Chariot And Horse Ritual Battle In Liao Dynasty

The Liao Dynasty,a political power established by the khitan ethnic group in northern China,became a period of cultural prosperity for the nomadic people in northern China between the appearance of the name "khitan" and the demise of the jin dynasty about 700 years ago.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,the khitan people adopted a series of development policies suitable to the national conditions,such as the separation of the north and the south,and the officials from the north and the south,On the basis of absorbing the rules of honor of other nationalities,set of chariot and horse honor system with distinctive national cultural characteristics is constructed.This thesis is divided into four parts.The first part mainly discusses the distribution of horse harness,horse harness ornaments,chariot and horse ceremonial pictures unearthed in liao tombs in various periods,so as to have a general understanding and preliminary understanding of the unearthed chariot and horse ceremonial relics.The second part mainly discusses the reflection of the hierarchy in the chariot and horse ceremonial in Liao Dynasty,and analyzes the difference between nobility and commoners.The third part mainly discusses the travel etiquette in the chariot and horse ceremonial in Liao Dynasty.The last part analyzes the forms and characteristics of chariot and horse ceremonial in each period of Liao Dynasty.The system of chariot and horse ceremonial in Liao Dynasty was formed after the khitan dynasty established the Liao Dynasty and adapted to the special domestic political and economic situation.At the same time of absorbing the foreign culture,it kept its own characteristics of chariot and horse ritual.Therefore,it can be said that the chariot and horse honor system of the Liao Dynasty is the starting point for in-depth study of the politics,life and culture of the Liao Dynasty.
