The cooperation between China and Indonesia in the field of education has been significantly strengthened.At present,there are 7 Confucius Institutes and 2 Confucius Classrooms have been cooperated to establish between China and Indonesia.The mode of cooperation between Confucius Institutes and local universities has greatly promoted the development of Chinese teaching in local universities.The University of Alaza is located in Jakarta,Indonesia.In 2010,the first Confucius Institute was established in Indonesia,the Confucius Institute of Alaza University,in cooperation with China Fujian Normal University.Since it is the only university with a Confucius Institute in the capital region,it has good geographical advantages and development advantages.With the help of the Confucius Institute,Alaza University has had a wide influence in various sectors of Indonesian society,and become an Indonesian Muslim the representative university of mainstream society.In April 2019,it was my great honor to go to the Confucius Institute at the Alaza University in Jakarta,Indonesia as a volunteer Chinese teacher teaching Chinese in the Chinese Department of Alaza University.Therefore,I have a personal experience in teaching Chinese at school.During the teaching process,I investigated Chinese learners,Chinese teachers,curriculum and textbooks of the Chinese Department,and found that the Chinese Department of Alaza University has its unique development advantages.The scale of Chinese teaching has expanded year by year,but there are some problems in Chinese teaching that need to be discovered and corrected urgently,such as: different levels of student source quality,insufficient learning autonomy;high mobility of teaching staff,different personal ability of teaching skills of local teachers,single teaching method,imperfect teaching test method,lacking of suitable native high-quality teaching materials for Chinese students.Therefore,I put forward some targeted suggestions,such as:raising the entrance threshold of students to balance the quality of students;teachers should be student-centered in classroom teaching to improve their learning initiative;strengthen the construction of the teaching staff to achieve the greatest advantage of the strength of teachers.The selection of high-qualityChinese textbooks in line with Indonesia's national conditions,etc.,hopes to provide a reference for the future sustainable development of the Chinese Department of Alaza University.At the same time,Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and the political,economic,and cultural center of Indonesia.Its Chinese development level is typical and representative.The author selected Alaza University in Jakarta for a case study.I hope that I can give a glimpse of the leopard and study the universities in the entire Jakarta region.To understand the current status of Chinese teaching.
