| This paper examines cyan and black color terms in ancient Chinese.Twenty-seven color words in the blue system and forty-one color words in the black system are identified and counted from the dictionaries and literary works in ancient times.The paper explores the original meaning and source of the color meanings of the 68 cyan or black color words by combining character analysis,use case interpretation,the description of the word book and related works of predecessors.Based on these,analyze the color words' color nature and meaning changes.Then,the central color words that have mature color meanings and the additional color words that have not yet developed are separated out,and the words that cannot be determined to have color meanings are eliminated.The category of color words and their meanings have historical characteristics,and color words also have their own rules.The antiquity is the beginning of document language.The color word system has been relatively developed.It is feasible to explore the development rules of the language through careful analysis of the monosyllabic words of the cyan and black color terms.The dissertation is based on ancient times,and uses the cyan and black color terms as the entrance.It explores the characteristics of color words in the character pattern and meaning orientation.The paper considers that the phonetic signs in Chinese are meaningful.Also reviewing the development of the ancient cyan and black color terms,it was found that the meaning of color words basically comes from animals,plants,minerals,dyeing and weaving,personnel,etc.Most of color terms developed from nouns.The paper considers that the meanings of color words depend on specific things and is ambiguous.The change in the color word system reflects the social life at that time and people's experience and cognition to some extent.The emergence,development,and decline of words in the color word system reflect the laws of language development. |
