With artificial intelligence(AI)rapidly gaining ground all over the world, the acquisition and transmission of knowledge has undergone great changes.Artificial Intelligence on Learning,Teaching, and Education: Policies for the Future reported by Joint Research Center describes the current state of the art in AI and its potential impact on learning, teaching, and education and forward-looking activities, and the opportunities and challenges created by AI.For it hasn't been translated, the author selects Chapter 2,Chapter 3 and Chapter 4,aiming to improve translation ability, share the current development about AI and provide some experience in the translation of technical texts.Considering that the understanding of the source text needs knowledge about AI in some specific fields,Skopos theory is adopted in translating the source text to make the translation easier to understand. Therefore, the translator analyzes such translation difficulties as technical and semi-technical terms, abbreviations, complex and passive sentences at the lexical, syntactical and discourse levels and employs the appropriate translation methods to solve them based on functional Skopos theory of translation. This translation practice report has three findings as follows.Firstly, different translation methods and translation techniques such as annotation and literal translation are adopted to translate technical terms,semi-technical words and abbreviations to reproduce the original meaning;secondly, conversion and division are employed to improve readability of passive sentences and complex sentences;thirdly,to realize cohesion of the discourse, translation methods like omission and repetition are used. This report can be used as a reference for those engaged in translating technical text.
