With the rapid urbanization process, the phenomenon of population mobility is influencing every aspect of China's social and economic development. The floating population is increasingly becoming the largest contributor to China's labor market and even economic and social development.Among the floating population, the elderly population is a special group.Although it accounts for a small proportion of the floating population,it also has a sufficient scale.Based on the data of 2012 and 2016 provided in the monitoring data of China's floating population, this paper firstly explores the spatial and temporal patterns of inter-provincial migration of the elderly population in different years by making visual maps, and discusses the characteristics and changing trends of inter-provincial migration of the elderly population in China in recent years by descriptive statistics. Finally,it makes an empirical analysis on the influencing factors of inter-provincial migration of the elderly population by means of binary logistic regression model with spss software. The research results show that:First, there is a large difference in the inter-provincial mobility of the elderly population in our country. There are certain laws in spatial distribution, forming a spatial structure with more east and west and less middle. In terms of gender structure,China's inter-provincial floating elderly population has a spatial pattern of high in the west and low in the east.In terms of household registration structure, agricultural registered permanent residence has formed a spatial pattern of high in the east and low in the middle, while non-agricultural households have formed a pattern of two low-value areas in the west and the middle.Second, the inter-provincial migration of the elderly population in China is quite prominent and has also shown a changing trend with the passage of time. The characteristics are:the proportion of the elderly is increasing, the proportion of men is increasing, the proportion of Han nationality is mainly increasing, the educational level is low but has an increasing trend, the proportion of agricultural registered permanent residence is mainly but not agricultural registered permanent residence is increasing, the marital status is mainly spouse, the family expenditure and income level are increasing, the flow time is increasing, and the reasons for the flow are mainly employment and family reasons.Thirdly, among the influencing factors of the inter-provincial migration of the elderly population in China, the regression analysis is better after adding provincial indicators, which shows that besides individual factors, the factors of inflow place also deeply 1 affect the inter-provincial migration of the elderly population. On the whole, the factors of inflow are more significant in regression analysis, indicating that the factors of inflow have more significant impact on the inter-provincial flow of the elderly population in China than individual factors. From the perspective of time changes, the impact of 2016 is significantly increased compared with 2012,indicating that the inter-provincial migration of the elderly population is easier to explain over time. The influential factors in different grouping regression are different, but medical and health conditions and population concentration have always significantly affected the inter-provincial mobility of the elderly population. Finally, based on the above research results, policy recommendations are put forward.
