Recently,China is actively participating in international affairs with the enhancement of its comprehensive strength,and gradually showing the world its image as a peaceful,friendly and open country.International promotion of Chinese,which is an important part of the construction of national cultural power,has been a subject in various fields in a long time.Many achievements have been made in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.In recent years,more and more researchers have begun to pay attention to the learners themselves.They tried to explore their cognitive methods and acquisition processes,which is also a research perspective worthy of further exploration in the acquisition of Chinese as a second language.This article focuses on learner's preference in Chinese character learning strategies under the study of Chinese as a second language.The research takes the students in Confucius Institute at the University of Newcastle in Australia as an example,investigates their language background,learning strategies,and cognition of Chinese characters through the questionnaire.The teacher's opinions are also obtained for comprehensive analysis,which is trying to find the correlation between the choice of various learning strategies and the learner's gender,age,Chinese level,learning motivation,and whether they have Chinese background or not,etc.Chapter ? outlines the reasons for choosing the topic of this research,including the background and the significance of this research.Based on the current research situation of learners' learning strategies at home and abroad,this part expounds the theoretical basis of the research from the perspective of cognitive linguistics,Psycholinguistics,and constructivist learning theory in the field of education.The overall scheme of this study is proposed basing on the above-mentioned information.Chapter ? introduces the survey of Chinese character learning strategies in detail,including the selection of respondents,the design of questionnaires and the test of its reliability and validity.All the collected data has been statistically analyzed by SPSS and used to be further discussed about the correlations reflected in the results.Chapter ? focuses on the topic of tool strategies and analyzes the effectiveness of mobile Chinese character learning applications based on the statistical results of the survey.Combined with users' feedback,we mainly evaluate the functional design of mobile Chinese character learning applications.The survey results can help students find out more efficient Chinese character recognition methods,and provide useful information to the application designers for maximizing the auxiliary utility of mobile applications in the Chinese character learning to meet the users' needs.Chapter ? analyzes the specific needs of various types of students based on the analysis of learners' potential preference in'the learning strategy.The result can give the Chinese teacher some ideas of personalized teaching guidance in the future.It also urges the role re-orientation of teacher and development of students' autonomous learning ability in the non-target language environment.Chapter V summarizes the main conclusions of this research.We analyzed the innovation points and deficiencies of this study,and putting forward the prospects for the improvement of continued research.
