Work procrastination refers to an individual's proactive, irrational, and non-adaptive tendency to delay work tasks or decisions which are related to organizational goals and planned to be completed in the context of work or organization.Previous studies have found that the relatively high procrastination of the overall employee group is a comparatively common phenomenon. This study, focusing on work procrastination of enterprise employees, explores a set of intervention scheme, and verifies the effectiveness of this scheme in reducing the level of work procrastination of employees. This study recognizes that procrastination is a complex process in which emotion, cognition and behavioral components are involved. And that the Rational Emotive Therapy also involves the three factors from a comprehensive perspective. Therefore, this study selects Rational Emotive Therapy as the core, proposes an intervention scheme using the RET self-help scale of rational emotion as a tool, and designs a set of intervention scheme to reduce work procrastination of enterprise employees. In this study,First,40 voluntary subjects with high levels of procrastination are selected through a large sample survey of 291 employees. Then, the subjects are randomly divided into intervention group and control group. The intervention group, after an online theoretical counseling, fill out the rational emotional RET self-help form for 10 working days. The control group fill out the delayed incident records for the same days. Finally,a follow-up survey is conducted three months later, which turns out:(1)There is no significant difference in the level of work delay between the intervention group and the control group before the intervention.(2)There is no significant difference in the level of procrastination of the control group before and after the experiment. There is a significant difference in the level of work procrastination of the intervention group before and after the experiment.(3)The follow-up results after three months found no noticeable difference in the level of work delay between the control subjects and the post-test data. There is a significant difference between the tracking data of the intervention group's work delay level and the post-test data. Therefore, the intervention scheme proposed in this study can effectively reduce the level of work procrastination for employees,The statistics of the follow-up survey three months later shows that the intervention scheme in this study has no long-term effects.
