A Study On Martha C.Nussbaum's Capability Approach Of Justice From The Perspective Of Historical Materialism

Nussbaum's Capability Approach of Justice,with ten core abilities of human beings as their basic connotations,takes the dignity of the individual as the logical starting point,providing a basic threshold for the good life of human beings;the problems left by Rawls also have been solved due to its forward-looking in the global perspective and important theoretical and practical value.This paper uses the literature research method and the comparative research method to carry out the research from the three aspects of the emergence,content and significance of Nussbaum's Capability Approach of Justice,so as to provide some enlightenment for promoting the development of Nussbaum's Capability Approach of Justice.In addition to the introduction,this paper is mainly composed of three parts:The first part,the limitations of utilitarianism,Nussbaum and Rawls' criticism of utilitarianism is consistent is illustrated by summarizing utilitarianism and Rawls' theory of justice.Nussbaum tries to supplement and perfect Rawls' s social justice thought by using a different "ability" approach from Rawls' s justice theory to the three unsolved justice problems in Rawls' justice thought,namely,the justice of the disabled,the justice of transnational,and the justice of non-human species.The second part states the theory of Nussbaum's ability of justice and the full realization of human dignity.Starting from the general concept of the ability of justice and the functional activities of human beings,this paper explores what is the ability of justice.This paper explores the threshold of core competence and the pursuit of human dignity from three aspects: competence,the relationship between justice and dignity,the basic goal of the list of core competencies,the approach of multiple competencies and the substantive freedom of species.And in the specific practice process,the principle of practice of the theory of competence of justice and policy is needed to realize the theory.The third part is the analysis and reflection on the capability approach of justice from the perspective of historical materialism.It points out the forward-looking and global nature of the capability approach of justice from the uniqueness of the capability approach of justice on the bottom line of ability and the the global perspective of this theory.At the same time,from the standpoint of Marxism,we can not only see the fit between the approach of ability of justice and Marxism,but also see the objective criticism to the defects of the approach of ability of justice objectively with historical materialism.This paper explores the practical significance of the capability approach of justice from three aspects: improving the relationship between man and nature,protecting the interests of the vulnerable groups and enlightening the work of poverty alleviation in China.
