Edward Grieg(1843-1907),a Norwegian artist and composer,is one of the important representatives of the 19 th century national music school.His works are very rich.When he was young,he studied at Leipzig Conservatory of Music,and later founded Norwegian Conservatory of Music.His style of writing has a strong Norwegian national flavor."Piano Lyric Pieces" records Grieg's impression of the magnificent scenery and humanistic scenery of Norway's North Country.Each piece of music is not long,but its image is distinctive.As a performer of the music,he should have a thorough understanding and analysis of the creative background of the work in order to better interpret the work.This paper takes two works of Grieg's "Piano Lyric Pieces" “Teluoerde Haugen's Wedding Day"and"To Spring" as examples,and makes a thorough discussion and Study on the creative background,creative methods and performing techniques.The full text is divided into three parts.The first part analyses Grieg's "TeluoerdeHaugen's Wedding Day" from the aspects of musical structure,harmony application and creative techniques.The second part analyses Grieg's "To Spring" from the same angle.The third part compares and analyses the creation background,structure and sound of the two works,and compares the similarities and differences points for further discussion.
