On The Moral Freedom

Moral freedom is the process of generation,choice and realization of moral will.If we want to have a correct understanding of this concept,we must grasp two aspects:one is the generation of moral freedom in the field of ideas,the other is the realization of moral freedom in the field of reality.The former belongs to the freedom of moral concept,which is the agent's will generated in spirit;the latter belongs to the freedom of moral action,which is the realistic activity of moral will to overcome external obstacles in the real field.People's moral needs and moral will influence and control moral action;the freedom of moral action in turn affects people's moral choice,which is the basic way to realize moral will.There is a logical sequence between them,that is,the freedom of moral concept first,and the freedom of moral action second.They are inseparable to each other.Moral freedom is the integration of moral concept freedom and moral action freedom.Generally speaking,the moral freedom of common people often emphasizes the moral freedom in the field of ideas.This does not take into account the obstacles that people encounter in the face of nature and society,but regards people as the existence that is fully controlled by rationality.To confirm whether a person has achieved moral freedom,we must examine the activity of every link of the generation,choice and realization of moral will.Moral freedom is not the Utopia of the other world.Its realization needs the support of social and individual conditions.The social conditions for the realization of moral freedom include social economic and moral cultural conditions,and the individual conditions include the individual's moral psychology and the individual's moral practice ability.Social and economic conditions are the necessary conditions for the realization of moral freedom.Excellent moral and cultural conditions promote the generation of individual moral will and voluntary and conscious behavior;thequality of individual moral psychological state and the level of moral practice ability are the important factors for the realization of individual moral freedom.The existing characteristics of moral freedom include the unity of initiative and passivity,the unity of concept and action,the unity of universality and particularity,etc.The practical significance of moral freedom is mainly embodied in three aspects:shaping moral personality,improving life value and promoting social harmony.
