Study On Qian Qianyi's Chess Poems

Chess is an ancient game and an elegant art,it has been gradually improved in the feudal society for thousands of years.What is more,chess has become an important literary image,which has been used by poets in their writings,and been endowed with a variety of image connotations.As a leading poet in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,Qian Qianyi wrote many excelent works about chess because of his changeable life experiences and his hobby of playing chess.According to the author's statistics,there are a total of 97 poems about chess written by Qian Qianyi.These chess poems are a model of combining poetry with art,which not only shows his outstanding talent and superb poetic skills,but also the inclusiveness and flexibility of ancient Chinese poetry genre.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction part.Firstly,it summarizes the research status and background of Qian Qianyi's poetry.Secondly,the research object of this paper "chess poetry" is defined to determine the research scope of this paper;Finally,the purpose and significance of this paper are introduced.The first chapter discusses the creation of Qian Qianyi and poetry about chess,including the creation of poetry about chess and the reasons of Qian Qianyi's introduction of chess into poetry.The second chapter discusses the content of Qian Qianyi's poetry about chess,mainly including his unsatisfactory official life and unrecognized talents;the Concern about the border and worry about the motherland;greasiness and be in a dilemma;the thought of rebelling Qing Dynasty and rebuilding Ming Dynasty,and the feeling of missing of Broken Country;the concern for people playing chess and worry about the major events of the moment;the enjoyment and suffering of living in seclusion.The third chapter discusses Qian Qianyi's artistic achievement of the introduction of chess in his poetry,which is reflected in being adept in analogy,vivid and relevant;the using of metaphors,puns and allusions;recording history with poetry,and the use of chess to show ideas;various forms of poetry,and the use of rhymes and quatrains.The fourth chapter is mainly about the unique status and influence of Qian Qianyi's poems about chess.His chess poetry is a rich collection of chess images;It is also a model to express the heart in chess.Furthermore,Qian Qianyi's poems about chess had an impact on the Yushan poetry.
