A Study On The Narrative Evolution Of Jia Pingwa's Novels

Jia Pingwa is one of the famous local narrative writers in the contemporary literary circle of China.His novel creation embodies his local narrative strategy and feelings,and expresses his self-examination and cultural reflection on the real life of the local society.This paper takes two aspects of narratology and statistical literature and art as the pointcut,bases on the close reading of the text,examines the 16full-length novels created by Jia Pingwa from 1984 to December 2018 as a whole,and analyzes the narrative evolution of his full-length novels.The narration of Jia Pingwa's novels is based on the narration of local novels with the purpose of revealing the rise and fall of local civilization,which has formed since the May 4th movement period.Both in-depth study of Jia Pingwa each creation stage,and tries to find its internal development clue of the novel narrative,probes into the performance of Jia Pingwa novels' narrative evolution,found that the narrative evolution both inherited the traditional features of vernacular fiction writer,and the vernacular literature narrative connotation has carried on the exploration and innovation,with Jia Pingwa personal reflections on vernacular literature distinct culture.This narrative evolution is not only a kind of progress in Jia Pingwa's creative process,but also plays a very important role in interpreting cultural thoughts such as exploring the decline of local traditional culture and trying to find the way out of local traditional cultural spirit.The thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter mainly analyzes the performance of Jia Pingwa's novels in different stages and the inheritance and innovation of Jia Pingwa's traditional local narration.The second chapter analyzes the narrative logic and the evolution of the theme of the dual opposition in Jia Pingwa's novels,mainly from three aspects: urban-rural opposition,traditional and modern opposition,violence and poetic opposition,and grasps Jia Pingwa's cultural thinking on rural and urban changes.The third chapter starts from the two dimensions of narrative structure and narrative person,and finds that Jia Pingwa's novels are not confined to a single narrative structure and narrative person,showing the beautiful rural humanity and a magnificent social picture.The fourth chapter first analyzes changes of the narrative style of Jia Pingwa's novels has made an analysis,and thenfrom the angle of statistical literature in different periods before and after its creation three representative novels of lexical density,parts of speech and so on has carried on the quantitative analysis of changes of the narrative style to Jia Ping-wa's novel provides empirical basis,based on the analysis of the causes of Jia Pingwa novels narrative style changes.The conclusion summarizes the work of the thesis,illustrates the shortcomings of its own research,and points out that the narrative evolution of Jia Pingwa's novels,as an important subject,still has the necessity of in-depth research.
