The Study Of Death Narrative In Jia Pingwa's Novels

Death is the ultimate destination of all life forms.Death Just for itself,this proposition does not make much sense.However,numerous literary works' expression about death have special meaning.The writers' contemplation of death not only integrates the unique life experience,but also permeates the pursuit,torture,inquiry and deep thinking of the national cultural spirit.Among the modern and contemporary Chinese novels,the death narrative of the "vanguard faction" in the 1980s is the most typical.They subvert the concept of life and death in traditional Chinese moral culture by presenting abnormal and absurd forms of death and constantly challenge the traditional moral order culture by deviant death forms.There are also a large number of death phenomena in Jia Pingwa's novels.This paper selects the death events and death phenomena in Jia Pingwa's novels as the research object,analyzes the specific causes of Jia Pingwa's death narration,displays the specific forms of death in the novels,and excavates the rich aesthetic forms and value connotations contained in death.The death expression in Jia Pingwa's novel is not infatuated with various forms of death like the"vanguard faction" writers,but follows the established rules of tradition and study the fates of characters and human morality in the seemingly ordinary life.In fact,as the leading writer in contemporary Chinese literature,Jia Pingwa's novels never lack death theme.His description about the death phenomenon is thick and heavy in colours,which reflects the writer's thinking about the fate of the characters and the search for the original meaning of life.Therefore,this paper takes death as the entry point to study the narrative strategy of Jia Pingwa's novels through the narrative form of death and its aesthetic value,which has certain academic value.This paper consists of three parts:The first part explores the causes of Jia Pingwa's death narration mainly through three dimensions.The first dimension research the relationship between traumatic experience and the writer's creation.Childhood experience,the Cultural Evolution experience and illness experience shaped Jia Pingwa's unique personality and temperament,and this traumatic experience influenced the writer's creative impulse.The second dimension explores the relationship between "pioneer" current and Jia Pingwa's death narration.Jia Pingwa's is influenced because of the violence aesthetics of "Avant-garde”ideological trend,and presents the nothingness and decadence of life,and pays attention to the excavation about the loss of traditional Chinese culture through death fonn.The third dimension starts from the regional culture of Shangzhou,and analyzes the relationship between the regional characteristics of multiple floods in Shangzhou and the death mode of Jia Pingwa's death narrative,as well as under the cultural background of the Qin dynasty and the Chu dynasty,this influence of Jia Pingwa's death narrative because of Shangzhou's witchcraft culture.The second part analyzes the character and history perspectives in Jia Pingwa's death narrative from synchronicity and diachrony.From the perspective of character,this paper mainly presents lots of death forms and the death concepts of typed characters in Jia Pingwa's novels.From the perspective of history,this paper mainly discuss the characteristics of the times of Jia Pingwa's death narrative in different historical periods.The third part explores the emotional experience,value orientation and aesthetic implication of Jia Pingwa's death narration.The emotional experience of Jia Pingwa's death narration is mainly conveyed through three dimensions,namely,the description of the objects that implying the meaning of death,the writing of the dream predicting death and the shaping of the death group portrait,and constitute three psychological mechanisms of death,namely,death instinct,death fear and death carnival.The value exploration of Jia Pingwa's death narration is mainly carried out from three aspects:thinking about the origin of life,reflecting on the industrial civilization and calling for the return of humanity.The aesthetic significance of Jia Pingwa's death narrative is mainly reflected in four aspects:the nihility beauty presented by "personal heroism",the absurdity beauty expressed by supernatural events,the redemption beauty conveyed by the consciousness of ugliness,and the tragic beauty embodied by the sacrifice for love.
