There are four basic skills in English teaching, which is listening, speaking, reading and writing.Reading comprehension accounts for the largest proportion of the four skills. Not only it's the highest percentage in the test, but also reading and writing skills as a whole part which can not be separated, and the input of reading will directly affect the output of writing. This is the direct reason why the author chooses to study reading.Secondly, the author studies the questions in the National University Entrance Examination in the past three years, and found out that the key point for good reading comprehension result depends on the combination of large vocabulary and comprehensive cultural background. The study of cultural background in this part also affects the score of writing,so the teaching of reading in class is very crucial. In addition, because of the limitation of the teaching hours in the school, what kind of method could effectively cultivate students' cultural awareness is particularly important.More importantly, language teaching should rely on the cultural background and constantly compare Chinese and Western cultures in order to better master a language. Finally learners will be competent to use it freely. The flipped task-based language teaching can solve the above problems very well,so it is of great significance to cultivate the cultural awareness of English reading in senior high school by using the flipped task-based approach.Based on constructivism, humanism, the theories of autonomous learning and cooperative learning, this paper discusses how to reverse the task-based teaching model to improve students' cultural awareness. The author took 80 students from a senior high school in Harbin as the research object and conducted a more than three months' teaching experiment,in which Class two was the experimental class and Class three was the control class.Among them, the experimental class adopts the flipped task-based teaching model, while the control class still adopts the traditional teaching method. After three months' teaching, the author then adopts a writing quiz to test the students. The data of questionnaires and test scores were analyzed by spss25 software.Through the experiment,it is concluded that flipped task-based teaching model can effectively improve students' cultural awareness. At the same time,it is also found that the new teaching model will promote students' learning initiative and classroom participation, there will be more competition and cooperation, and the classroom will be more interesting. This study has a breakthrough both in theory and practice.Theoretically,it further summarizes and promotes the theory, and combines the flipped classroom and the taskbased teaching method into one,it is better than the traditional theory. In practice, through the support of theory,it enriches the form of modern English reading teaching in the classroom, promotes students' overall learning, and changes some students' interest in English learning.
