After the signing of the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement,Hong Kong directors have come northwards. After undergoing homogenous ‘ low quality and quantity ’ vicious competition, the development of co-productions has also entered a new phase accordingly. The film business model follows the laws of the mainland market, and film art and culture are beginning to converge. This article takes the Hong Kong director Peter Chan to the north as an example to discuss the fusion of co-productions,and focuses on the film productions directed and produced by director Peter Chan after he went northwards in 2005,and analyzes the creative process and film concept of director Peter Chan’s adapting to the mainland market after going north.Comparing Peter Chan’s northern concept of ‘ Pan-Asian Film’with the idea of‘Fusion’after going northwards,he explored the fusion of reality in film creation, the fusion of values with the main theme, and the balance of market lines. The first chapter of the dissertation outlines the background of the issues raised and clarifies how the environment for the development of Hong Kong films before and after the implementation of the CEPA policy gave Hong Kong directors, and Peter Chan in particular, some of the challenges and opportunities of the times, and related measures to address these challenges and opportunities. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of Peter Chan’s‘Pan-Asian Film’concept and practice. This is one of the innovations of this thesis. Before this,it was extremely rare to analyze the causes of Peter Chan’s theory of‘Pan-Asian Film’putting forward practices and stranding. The third chapter is the core part of this paper, aiming at Peter Chan’s exploration of the concept of‘fusion’after going northwards, combing, summarizing and summarizing the three dimensions from the background of reality, values, and market lines. The fourth chapter is the conclusion part of this article. It is an extension of Peter Chan’s concept of‘Fusion’in the development of China’s film market and considers the realistic value and significance of Peter Chan’s fusion.Peter Chan found a balance between the two cultures in the blending of mainland culture and Hong Kong culture. It has reference value for the development of many other Hong Kong directors. This is also our wish for Chinese movies.
