A Study On Aspectual Category In Nanxiong Dialect Of Guangdong

Nanxiong is located in the north of Guangdong Province,the border of Guangdong and Jiangxi Province.The dialect in Nanxiong City belongs to the north of Guangdong Province of Hakka dialect in the Chinese dialect area.At present,there is very little research on the grammar of Nanxiong dialect.This paper starts from Aspectual category of Nanxiong dialect,hoping to provide some materials for the grammar research of Nanxiong dialect through the description and analysis of the grammar phenomenon.On whether the Aspect and Mood should be separated,this paper uses the viewpoint of Li Rulong(1993),Shi Rujie(2001)and Dai Qingxia(2001)to classify the Aspect and Mood according to the Aspectual category investigation of Nanxiong dialect and the language facts in the early stage.In Nanxiong dialect,Aspect means that the state of the action and events in a certain time course;Mood almost has noting to do with time,and embodies the imagination and sentiment of the action subject.There are seven kinds of Aspect in Nanxiong dialect described in this paper,namely perfect aspect?progressive aspect?continuous aspect?initial aspect?continual aspect?experience aspect?repeated aspect and so on.And there three kinds of Mood in Nanxiong dialect described in this paper,namely transitory mood?tentative mood and restore mood.On the premise of fully respecting the fact of Nanxiong dialect corpus,this paper will quote many related theories of modern linguistics,focusing on the syntactic function,semantic direction,collocation object,etc.,and fully describe and analyze the problems of Aspectual category in Nanxiong dialect.
