In the history of Tibet, which used to be a religion for almost all people,Tibetan Buddhism has a very close relationship with the secular society. At present, there are still a large number of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Tibet, which still play a role that cannot be ignored in people's lives.Among Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Tibet, there are many large and medium-sized monasteries that occupy a large area and have a large population of monks, but more are small-scale rural monasteries, which can also be called community monasteries.Although the size of such community monasteries or village monasteries is small, they are numerous, and they are more closely linked to Tibetan rural society.In-depth research on them still has important academic value and practical significance. This article takes an example of Kejia Temple,a rural monastery located in the Himalayas mountainous region of the western Tibet Autonomous Region, based on a relatively complete field investigation, and adopts a community research path of ethnology, anthropology and sociology, and uses religious research. The structure and function paradigm are theoretical considerations, discussing the relationship between Tibetan rural monasteries and local communities and the role they play in community life. There are five parts in the body of the thesis, including the introduction, chapters 1 to 3 and conclusion.First,it describes the basic summary of Kejia Temple and its community,Kejia Village.Judging from the historical evolution of Kejia Temple, the temple is a thousand-year-old temple. It originally belonged to the Kadang sect, later changed to the Kagyu sect, and then changed to the Sakya sect in the Yuan Dynasty.Although Kejia Temple has a long history,it is currently relatively small in scale. There are only15 monks in the temple, which belongs to the more typical rural monasteries in Tibet. The Kejia Village centered on the Kejia Temple is an administrative village in the Pulan County of the Tibet Autonomous Region..Secondly,with the monastery as the center, discuss the relationship between Kejia Temple and Kejia Village, and clarify the dependence of Kejia Temple on Kejia Village at various levels. From the monk level, not only all the monks in Kejia Temple come from Kejia Village, but the daily life of the monks,as well as the practice and study inthe temple, are inseparable from family support. From the perspective of the economic sources of the monastery, the human, material, and financial offerings of individual villagers and families in Kejia Village,as well as the collective human, material, and financial offerings of the community are all important economic sources of Kejia Temple. From a management perspective,Kejia Temple is also highly dependent on Kejia Village.Third, analyze the community function of Kejia Temple from community participation.Kejia Temple is not only the historical memory center of Kejia Village, but also plays the role of sacred center in the spatial construction of Kejia Village. In terms of community economy,on the one hand,Kejia Temple is directly involved in the industrial economic development of Kejia Village by collecting tickets for foreign tourists, and setting up Tibetan incense factories and guest houses,on the other hand,it is indirectly participating in poverty alleviation and pensions The redistribution of wealth in the village of Kejia. In terms of religion, whether it is daily life or festivals,Kejia Temple is the main religious service provider in Kejia Village. Finally,a summary analysis of the relationship between village monasteries and communities in Tibet and their functions in the community is made, and the conclusion of the paper is drawn: the relationship between rural monasteries and communities is interdependent and mutually beneficial. While highly dependent on the community,it is also highly involved in the secular life of the community, and plays an important role in the community's cohesion, space construction, economy, and religion.
