Polarity complement is a type of degree complement in modern Chinese,which means top meaning.Most of these complements have a strong oral color,and they appear more often in oral communication.International students will inevitably need to use polar complements to express in certain language situations in the process of communicating with Chinese people.Therefore,it is very important for international students to learn this kind of complements.To understand the types and characteristics of such complements,they can better communicate with the Chinese,and can express more freely and authentically when using Chinese expressions.It is also because polar complements are often used in spoken Chinese,and they are rarely learned systematically in written languages.Polar complements are a class of complements that are constantly updated over time.Large,its type and characteristics are difficult to grasp,so there are many difficulties for foreign students in the process of acquiring polar complements.Therefore,the research on this kind of complement has its objective necessity and practical significance,and the academic circles are also quite concerned about it.As far as the existing research in the academic circle is concerned,most of its research focuses on the ontology research of polar complements and the country-specific bias research on corpora.Among them,the bias research is based on the corpus-based bias research.In addition,it mainly focuses on research conducted by international students in the United States,Thailand,and South Korea,while research on Lao international students' acquisition of the complementarity of modern Chinese polarities is still scarce.In view of this,this article first defines the concept and choice of polar complements.Starting from the ontology research of polar complements,the types and characteristics of polar complements are clarified.Analyze the errors,and set up a questionnaire to further investigate the acquisition of middle and senior students in Laos,and then review the relevant Chinese teaching materials for foreigners,analyze some factors affecting the complementarity of the polarities acquired by foreign students,and finally put forward some relevant suggestions.I hope that I can provide some suggestions and help in the preparation of relevant content in Chinese-related textbooks and classroom teaching.
