This translation report is based on the translation of Part Two's Fourth Chapter to Seventh Chapter of the novel Boy Erased.Boy Erased, written by Gardner Conley, has been the New York Times' best-selling memoir. Then,it's filmed in 2018.Through in-depth reading and analysis of the source text, the translator finds that Boy Erased is the reminiscent and autobiographical novel, which contains the use of the stream of consciousness. So this translation report mainly consists of five parts. The first part is the description of the translation task, including the introduction of it's author and book, the selection of parallel texts, and the significance of this practice. The second part is the translation process, including pre-translation preparation, the process of translation, and the post-translation's proof-reading.Then,the third part and the fourth part are cores of this report, which contains the translation theory, the analysis of cases and some difficulties from this translation. After choosing" the Theory of Equivalent Translation",the translator starts from the five levels:word,phrase,sentence,super-sentence and text,in combination with the actual situation of translation,to analyze and explore how to realize the equivalence in their three aspects:the superficial level, the deep semantic level and the rhetorical level,as well as study the translation methods of stream of consciousness. Then, the last part is the conclusion.Through this practice, the translator not only has a deeper understanding of the stream of consciousness and the literary translation, but also gains some lessons:a translator should keep in mind his own mission and purpose of translation,as well as take readers into consideration in the process of translation.
