| Young Persons with Disabilities: Global Study on Ending Gender-Based Violence,and Realising Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights,released by the United Nations Population Fund in 2018,focuses on the sexual,reproductive and health problems faced by young persons with disabilities,as well as the gender-based violence and discrimination they suffered.This report has aroused the attention of young persons with disabilities from all walks of life.Therefore,the first chapter of this report is used as the source text in this translation practice,hoping to provide reference for the work of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and other disabled persons' organizations.The first chapter of this UN report mainly introduces the concepts of disability,the discrimination in accessing and enjoying their sexual and reproductive health and rights,and the violence against young persons with disabilities.The source text belongs to United Nations official document,and its language is rigorous,objective and logical.The main difficulties are the translation of polysemous words and common words,the translation of long and complex sentences,and how to reproduce the style of the source text.This report is guided by context theory,and discusses the translation of words,sentences and style from linguistic context and extra-linguistic context.The translation of polysemous words,common words and long and complex sentences can be based on linguistic context,in which related words are translated by conversion and meaning extension,and sentences by amplification,cutting and embedding respectively.In addition,it is guided by extra-linguistic context to reproduce the style of the source text from the words and the text,which is based on the field,tenor and mode.This translation practice report discusses translation methods of official document,hoping it can provide some references and suggestions for the official document translators. |
