A Report On E-C Translation Of The Extracts From Of The 5G Myth

In recent years,under the background of the global competition for the development of 5G communication technology,China has also started to accelerate the pace of 5G network coverage.At present,5G business is speeding up nationwide,and provinces and cities are also accelerating the layout of 5G construction.The research related to 5G technology is particularly important.In this translation practice,the translator intends to take the 5G myth,a new book by William Webber,as the translation materials,hoping to provide reference for relevant Chinese researchers through E-C translation practice,so as to play a positive role in the development of5 G mobile communication technology in China.This translation practice report selects Chapter 8,Chapter 9 and Chapter 10 of the5 G myth as the translation materials.In these chapters,the author gives a detailed description of the ways to achieve 5G network coverage consistency,and summarizes the research results of the full text.The large number of non-finite Verbs in the text makes it difficult for the translator to translate,which is the focus of this translation practice report.Non-finite Verbs can act as all the sentence elements except the predicate in a sentence,and different types can correspond to different translation means,which is in line with the characteristics of "flexibility" in the theory of variation translation,that is,flexible change according to different situations.Therefore,the translator chooses the Translation Variation Theory as the theoretical guidance,and discusses the translation of non-finite Verbs in the text in detail.This report focuses on the case analysis.Under the guidance of the Translation Variation Theory,the translator discusses the adaptation of gerund as subject and participle phrase as attribute,the compilation of gerund as preposition object and infinitive as subject,and the addition of infinitive as adverbial and participle phrase as adverbial.The translator adapts different ways to different types of non-finite Verbs,which makes the combination of case and theory more targeted.Through thistranslation practice,the translator summarizes some translation methods for communication texts,hoping to play a reference role for the Chinese translation of similar texts.
