| Memetics is a new theory that explains the laws of cultural evolution,providing a new perspective for research in many fields,including the translation of the names of literary and film works.This article takes the Russian literature and film works as the research object,and uses the meme theory as the theoretical guide.It is considered that it is feasible to study the Chinese translation of Russian literature and film works based on the meme theory.From the perspective of memetics,the essence of Chinese translation of Russian literary and film titles is the process of translator decoding,encoding,and consumer decoding.By analyzing the names of some representative works in Russian literature and film works,the language characteristics and principles of Chinese translation of Russian literature and film works names are summarized and I believe that the names of Russian literature and film works should follow the principles of information transmission,cultural communication,artistic aesthetics and commercial value when they are translated into Chinese.The translation of the names of Russian literary film and television works requires not only the translator to fully understand the work,but also the cultural memes in the source and target languages.Therefore,the last chapter of this article analyzes the Chinese translation strategy of Russian literary film and television titles from the perspective of domestication and foreignization.Combined with examples,the free translation,transliteration,and transliteration adopted during domestication and the transliteration and transliteration adopted during foreignization are briefly reviewed and analyzed,with a view to making the translation of the names of Russian literary film and television works to a certain extent possible. |
