Guo Xiang's "Zhuangzi Notes" creates a brand new ideological system by interpreting the text of "Zhuangzi",which represents the highest point of the development of metaphysics in the Wei and Jin metaphysics. From the perspective of ideological history,Guo Xiang combined the opposite “Being” and “Non-being” in the metaphysics of Wei and Jin Dynasties with the logic of "independence" theory, and became the integrator of the ontological development of the metaphysics of Wei and Jin dynasties. From the perspective of world view and outlook on life,Guo Xiang constructed a political philosophy suitable for the requirements of the time from the consideration of human nature, and explained the freedom concept which was different from Zhuangzi's “The Transcendental Happiness Walk” but has the same value and care for life.On the basis of the previous studies, this paper starts with Guo Xiang's Annotation on Chuang-tzu,analyzes and studies the thought that Guo Xiang constructed from it,and tries to make a deeper grasp of Guo Xiang's philosophy.First,The development of metaphysics in the Wei and Jin dynasties is in one continuous line,in the first part of this thesis, from the perspective of the whole history of metaphysics in the Wei and Jin dynasties, two of the most representative metaphysicians,Wang Bi and Pei Wei,are selected to make a study on the appearance of Guo Xiang's thought.Wang Bi is the representative of the theory of“Non-being”,but there are unavoidable and unsolvable contradiction in his philosophical system--the contradiction between generative and abstract meanings.Pei Wei proposed the theory of “On the Appreciation of Being”,but his metaphysics of“Being” did not seek and reveal the reasons, conditions and grounds for the existence of Being. At this time,Guo Xiang's theory of“independe-nce”theory appeared.Guo Xiang sublated and developed the ideas of his predecessors to make his own system more inclusive and complete. So,how did Guo Xiang establish his metaphysical system through "Zhuangzi Note" ?In general research, the "independence" has eliminated the contradiction between "being" and "non-being" through the "relative cause","self-nature",and "Xuanming",and organically unified the two.The second part of this paper further studies on the basis of “indpendence” and “Xuanming Realm” between the two are interdependent and interrelated.“indpendence” is a kind of expression of “Xuanming Realm”,and “xuanming realm” is the deducing power of “indpendence”.Guo Xiang uses “the realm of things”,“the field of self-satisfaction”,“Xuanming Realm” to combine “Being” and “Non-being”.The Transcendental Happiness Walk” is a kind of absolutely free outlook on life.people should pursue the unique and carefree way of life cultivation. The third part of this article further studies human detachment.Recognition and understanding of everything and self-sufficiency is called “self-sufficiency”.Since the outside world may bring people all kinds of intrusions in unpredictable forms,in the face of this reality, people should settle in their own state and abandon pain from their hearts,is called “divide each into its own parts”.Only no heart can answer the voice, settle in fate, and achieve the realm of communication to original heart, which is called “hell and forget the world”.In the fourth part, the paper studies human's “nature”,“emotion” and “fate” in the process of “indpendence”,and how to realize the “rule of the world” by “internal sage and external king”.This chapter needs to study how “emotion” deviates from“nature”,and how heaven acts on people in the form of “fate”.Guo Xiang also proposed that monarchs “Wu Wei” when describing the ideal political picture, and took the concept of nature as the core to resolve the “contradictions” in political thought.
