The development of human society cannot be separated from the communication among people.Research shows that the human brain system has made social interaction a part of its work.FINESSE-Superior Social Skills written by Henrik Fexeus is an argumentative text with popular language,aiming to help people improve their social skills with its ingenious way of thinking and easy-to-understand expressions.Its content meets the psychological needs of the public and provides unique solutions to people's real problems.The translation practice report takes FINESSE-Superior Social Skills as the translation text,Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory as the theoretical guidance,and selects the case analysis from three aspects of vocabulary,syntax and text.The paper adopts a variety of translation skills,mainly including omission,conversion,division and inversion,in order to try to convey the original thought and information,and keep consistent with the style of the source text as much as possible.Translation theory plays a significant role in translation practice.According to Functional Equivalence Theory,translation should embody the meaning and spirit of the source language from the superficial word to the deep connotation.The practice shows that the Functional Equivalence Theory can effectively guide the translation of the argumentative text;functional equivalence between languages can help the translator to solve the problems such as lack of fluency,so as to improve the readability of the translation.Then,translation practice should be combined with a translation theory,and appropriate translation skills should be used according to the specific characteristics of the text,in order to improve the quality of the translation.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 30...
