| The development of the hydropower industry is closely related to the national economy and people’s livelihood. In recent years, the science and technology of hydropower in China have made great progress, and the basic automation facilities of hydropower plants have become increasingly sophisticated. The proportion of hydropower text translation in the field of international scientific exchanges is continuously increasing nowadays. However, the research perspectives mainly focus on E-C scientific text translation,so there is a certain lack of attention to C-E translation of scientific text. Therefore, this report selects《水电厂自动化元件(装置)及其系统运行维护与检修试验规程》(Code of Operation,Maintenance,Overhaul and Test for Automation Components,Automation Devices and Their Related Systems for Hydropower Plant)as translation practice, which is with a certain research value.Due to the inherent differences between two languages and the difficulty of translating technical words and concepts, translation losses and reading barriers will inevitably occur during translation. In order to accurately and objectively reproduce the source text information, under the guidance of functional equivalence theory proposed by American translation theorist Eugene A.Nida,on lexical level and syntactic level, this report analyzes how to achieve functional equivalence in C-E scientific text translation of hydropower plant and summarizes different corresponding translation skills, hoping to provide certain solutions to the problems encountered in C-E scientific text translation in the future. |
