On Chinese Translation Of Social Science Texts From The Perspective Of Eco-translatology

In 2008,Hu Gengshen first put forward the theory of Eco-translatology.This theory believes that translation is a process of translator's adaptive choices.The theory takes adaptation and choice as a core,which provides a new perspective for translation practice.Language and Gender(the second edition)was written by Mary Talbot in 2010.The book belongs to social science text.The translator selects the part of “Difference-anddominance and beyond” of this book.Language use,cultural factors and connotations in this part are the focus of the translator.Taking Eco-translatology as theoretical framework,the translator analyzes the translation from the perspective of vocabulary,sentences and discourse on basis of the“Difference-and-dominance and beyond”,and then demonstrates adaptable choices from linguistic dimension,cultural dimension as well as communicative dimension.Besides,adaptive transformation from the cultural dimension tells us to concentrate on the economic,political and social customs.Adaptive transformation from the communicative dimension includes the connotations,both overt and covert intentions.Based on Ecotranslatology,the translator explores and analyzes the translated version through dimensional adaptive choices and translation strategies.These analyses will also expand a new perspective for the study of English translation of social texts.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 30...
