The translation report focuses on the translation of the first three parts of the book Educating Children with Autism,published by the National Research Council of the United States.The book mainly introduces research reports on education intervention in autistic children,covering clinical and developmental psychology,special education,and language pathology.As an academic research report of social science,there is no Chinese version of the book yet.With the acceleration of China's integration into the world,it is necessary to know the development of foreign science and education.The translation of this book is helpful to enrich domestic translations of academic works in education and science.In addition,MTI students will gain more experience of translation practice.However,because academic works are professional and authoritative,translators are supposed to be more skilled in this category of translation.The translation material is a medical education book in the field of social science.In this practical translation,the author combines the theory of "science translatology" to study some key problems encountered in the translation process.According to science translatology,we must follow the Three Principles of pragmatic value first,language meaning second,and language form third.Through the practical translation,the author has not only improved professional quality effectively but also realized that,to enhance the quality of translation,a translator should deepen the study and analysis on the stylistic features,the background information of the source text and the target readers.Besides,improving the level of understanding the two languages and employing the translation strategies and methods skillfully are also required.And the author learns to use the Three Principles when translating such kind of texts,and chooses appropriate translation strategies in different sentences.
