As a gathering place for human habitation and social life,city is not only an important material carrier for domestic and international city competition,but also an important spiritual driving force for it to gain an advantageous position in global competition.The city image logo is one of the most direct manifestations of a city's spiritual value.It contains the core spirit,values and development goals of the city,and plays a decisive role in the transmission of the city image.As an important carrier of China's excellent traditional culture,the establishment of the image logo of a famous historical and cultural city not only reflects the consciousness of the Chinese nation community it carries,but also realizes the perfect unity of the city's internal historical and cultural accumulation and the spiritual outlook of the external times,nourishing the spiritual world of the audience.In addition,in the international competition with cultural soft power competition as the core element,the image logo of a famous historical and cultural city plays a role as a propaganda window for the deep accumulation of China's long history and civilization and the open and inclusive temperament of a big country,which is helpful for the better development of the city and its place in the fierce global competition.This paper takes the design of the logo of a famous historical and cultural city in China as the research object,starting with the history and theory of the city's visual image,innovative presentation and design practice,and systematically studies the design of the logo of a famous historical and cultural city taking Handan as an example.First of all,based on the development status of the image establishment and logo design of famous historical and cultural cities,It points out the problems of inaccurate positioning of city image,insufficient connotation and convergence of performance in logo design.Secondly,based on the classification of famous historical and cultural cities,this paper puts forward a three-dimensional positioning method of city image,and according to the contemporary background,gives the design directions of the image logos of famous historical cities.Thirdly,combined with a large number of excellent cases at home and abroad,this paper discusses in detail the concrete improvement measures of the logo design of famous historical cities in China in the form of graphics,characters and comprehensive elements,and discusses the transformation method and expression mode of urban color intention.Finally,through on-the-spot investigation and questionnaire,taking Handan city as an example,case analysis and design practice are carried out.The establishment of the visual image of a famous historical city is a complicated and systematic process.This paper takes its logo design as the breakthrough point,hoping to deepen the theoretical research on the visual image of our country,to glow the new luster of a famous historical and cultural city under the new era background,to carry forward the traditional culture with Chinese characteristics,to enhance the national cultural self-confidence,and to provide important intellectual support for the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
