E-C Translation Research Of Drilling Technical Texts From Aesthetic Perspective

Petroleum Drilling Text is a kind of Petroleum Technical Texts,which has the aesthetic characteristics of conciseness,rigor and objectivity.In translation practice,we should pay attention to aesthetic transmission.There are many professional terms in Petroleum Drilling Texts,which involve a large number of drilling technology principles,instruments,tools and equipment.According to the different descriptions,the aesthetic emphasis is different.Therefore,it is necessary to accurately grasp the aesthetic emphasis of the original text before engaging in the translation practice of Petroleum Drilling Text.This translation project is selected from five chapters of Bill Rehm's Managed Pressure Drilling.This paper analyses the aesthetic characteristics of Petroleum Technical Texts and tries to apply skopos theory to the translation practice of Petroleum Drilling Texts.According to the different purposes of translation practice,several translation methods,such as free translation,retranslation and deconstruction,are adopted at the lexical,syntactic and textual levels.It is concluded that the translation of Petroleum Drilling Texts should be flexible,goal-oriented,faithful to the original text and oriented to drilling engineers so as to reproduce the aesthetic characteristics of Petroleum Drilling Texts.
