This study carried out the research on the English teaching in primary school of migrant children with WeChat assistance.The study analyzes the advantages and shortcomings of the current traditional education mode,and analyzes the problems,difficulties and reasons of the students in the English learning process through questionnaires and interviews.On this basis,it demonstrates the feasibility of WeChat to assist the migrant children's primary school English teaching.The research is based on mobile learning theory,second language acquisition theory,constructivist learning theory,etc.The teaching process of WeChat assisted migrant children's primary school English teaching was designed combined with WeChat to assist the design principles of children's English teaching,based on learner characteristics analysis,learning goal setting,learning content analysis and learning environment analysis.The process includes three parts: teaching front-end analysis,teaching process design and teaching evaluation.This research is based on the WeChat-assisted primary school English teaching process and implemented primary school English teaching experiment with WeChat assistance.The subjects selected two classes of students in the Songjiang District of Shanghai as the experimental group and the control group.The experimental group used the traditional teaching method with WeChat assistance,while the control group only used the traditional teaching method.The experiment sets the independent variable to use WeChat to assist the teaching.The dependent variable is set to the initiative,interaction,knowledge mastery degree of the student learning.After a natural semester of teaching experiment,the results showed that the learners' initiative,interaction,knowledge acquisition ability and English test scores were significantly higher than the control group.Based on the above experimental results,the study concluded that the WeChat-assisted primary school English teaching can effectively improve the learners' initiative,interaction,knowledge acquisition ability,English test scores.Finally,the shortcomings and limitations of this research are summarized,and the future research prospects are proposed.
