With the introduction of the core competence and value of English subject,the cultivation of students' cultural awareness has gradually become the focus of English teaching.While cultivating students' basic knowledge and skills in learning and using English,we should focus on cultivating students' multicultural awareness,inclusive cultural attitude and understanding of Chinese culture.Reading,as the most common type of English teaching,should be combined with the cultivation of students' cultural awareness.However,the teaching of English reading in senior high schools in China does not attach enough importance to the cultivation of students' Chinese cultural awareness at present,so it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on it.After consulting a large number of literature materials about reading teaching and culture teaching at home and abroad,this paper applies cross-cultural communication theory and constructivism theory,combines the English Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High Schools(2017 edition),takes the reading section of Oxford Senior High School English textbooks as the research object.Through literature research and text analysis,this paper puts forward some teaching strategies on how to teach Chinese culture in senior high school English reading under the background of core literacy: text reading,cultural understanding and cultural identity.This paper expounds the methods and matters needing attention in text interpretation and text arrangement,the students' understanding strategies of Chinese cultures,the methods of cultivating students' cultural interest,appreciation and inheritance,and provides some enlightenment on how to deal with Chinese cultural factors in the process of English reading teaching in senior high schools in the future,so as to stimulate students' interest in reading and enhance the effectiveness of cross-cultural communication,and improve the students' cultural awareness.This study is helpful to enrich the teaching strategies of Chinese cultural factors in senior high school English reading teaching,enrich the theory of foreign language teaching,provide some reference for teachers to explore Chinese cultural factors in senior high school English textbooks,and help teachers to cultivate students' cultural awareness reasonably in the process of reading teaching.
