Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai is an important classical work in modern period.It retains a large number of classical Chinese sentence patterns,having deep classical Chinese color,and there are few studies on the linguistics of Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai in the academic circle,which is of certain academic research value.This paper selects the marked passive sentences in Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai as the research object,conducts exhaustive investigation and statistics,describes them statically,and makes a synchronic comparative analysis to investigate the characteristics of marked passive sentences in Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai.According to statistics,there are 448 marked passive sentences and 8 passive marked words in Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai,which are classified and sorted out.From high to low they are “wei”,“bei”,“shou”,“jian”,“meng”,“yu”,“zao” “jiu” in order of frequency.Among them,“wei” is the highest frequently used character,accounting for 35.27%,and “jiu” is the lowest frequently used character,accounting for 2.01%.Firstly,in terms of syntactic format,marked passive sentences in Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai can be classified into 13 categories,mainly analyzing the number of passive marker words and the number of sentence pattern combinations in each type of syntactic format.The sentence format of “passive marker +V” is the main format,accounting for 36.38% of the marked passive sentence.Secondly,in the syntactic component,mainly from the subject,object,predicate,adverbial and complement five aspects to carry on the research analysis.In Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai marked passive sentences,the subject and object are mainly nouns(or noun phrases),the omission of the subject is the most cases.The mainly of predicate is monosyllabic predicate.The mainly of adverbials is temporal and frequency adverbial.The mainly of complements is directional complement.Thirdly,from the perspective of pragmatic color,marked passive sentences in Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai mainly express unpleasant emotions,followed by pleasant emotions and unexpressed emotions.The factors that influence pragmatic color can be classified into four categories,including verb,object,adverbial and comprehensive factors,among which the main ones is verb.Finally,based on the existing research results of passive sentences,this paper makes a synchronic comparison between the marked passive sentences in Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai and the marked passive sentences in modern literature,so as to highlight that the marked passive sentences in Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai have the characteristics of both classical and contemporary passive sentences.
