Aggression on Adolescents has been a widely concerned topic in the world.As a maladaptive emotion regulation strategy,angry rumination has demonstrated a predictive role in higher level of aggression in correlational.The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of setback situation for different levels of anger rumination Medium Occupation School students' influence on explicit and implicit aggression.The current study was divided into two parts.The first part was to translate and revise the angry rumination scale compiled by Sukhodolsky and make it suitable for the assessment of angry rumination on Medium Occupation School students.The second part conducted two experiments,which aimed to explore the effect of setback situation for different anger rumination levels of Medium Occupation School students' influence on aggression based on the revised scale and frustration-aggression theory.There are the results:(1)The revised Angry Rumination Scale has total of 18 items,which was composed of four dimensions: angry afterthoughts,thoughts of revenge,angry memories,and understanding of causes.It has good reliability and validity.(2)For explicit aggression,the main effect of setback situation and angry rumination were significant.The subjects' explicit aggression in the setback situation was significantly higher than those in the non-setback situation.The subjects with high level of angry rumination had significantly higher explicit aggression than those with low level in both the non-setback and setback situations.(3)For implicit aggression,the main effect of setback situation was significant.The subjects' implicit aggression in the setback situation was significantly higher than those in the non-setback situation.The main effect of angry rumination was not significant.There was no significant difference in the implicit aggression between the subjects with high and low level of angry rumination.The study came to the following conclusions:(1)The revised Angry Rumination Scale is applicable to Medium Occupation School students;(2)Setback situation and angry rumination have significant influence on the explicit aggression of Medium Occupation School students;(3)Setback situation has significant influence on implicit aggression of Medium Occupation School students,while angry rumination has no significant influence on implicit aggression.
