Zhong Yuan Yin Yun was written by Zhou Deqing in the year of 1324.He compiled this book in order to solve various problems existed in the creation of Yuan drama.After this book was written,there have certain standards for creating Ci and Qu,which solved the chaos in the compilation of northern song of Yuan Dynastys,and had a great influence on the compilation of rhyme books later.The most noticeable thing is the tone system of this book.Zhou Deqing not only divided the Ping into Yin and Yang,but also sent the Ru to other tone categories.Therefore,the tone system has become a major feature of Zhong Yuan Yin Yun,which reflecting Zhou Deqing's careful examination of the tone.Since then,many rhyme books have inherited this method.There are not only tone categories that reflect reality,but also compilers have set up to facilitate the creation of Ci and Qu.On the basis of sorting out the nine rhyming books in the series of Zhong Yuan Yin Yun,this paper uses historical comparison method,internal analysis method and synchronic reference method to compare them with modern Chinese dialects,objectively display the evolution and classification of the tones of the series of rhyming books in Zhong Yuan Yin Yun,compare the later sounds,finding the differences in the phonetic features they embody.According to the evolution of the tone types of each book,the series of rhyme books inZhong Yuan Yin Yun can be divided into four categories:Zhong Yuan Yin Yun and Zhong Zhou Yue Fu Yin Yun Lei Bian reflected the tone types in the central plains of north China;Qiong Lin Ya Yun,Lu Fei Xuan Ci Lin Yao Yun and Zhong Zhou Yin Yun reflected the tone types in the central plains of north China which was Slightly conservative;Zhong Zhou Quan Yun,Zhong Zhou Quan Yun Ji Yao and Zeng Ding Zhong Zhou Quan Yun reflected the tone types of both the north and the south;Qu Yun Li Zhu reflects the tone types in the south of the Yangtze River.Generally speaking,the change of rhyme books is basically adapted to the actual situation of the south of the Yangtze River.
