| As one of the epoch-making writer in post-war period,Kobo Abe not only made achievements in the field of fiction,but also created a new field of Japanese modern drama.His dramatic works are full of action and imagination,showing the interpersonal relationship in Japanese urbanism and the alienation between people and modern society.The dramas of Kobo Abe are mostly based on daily life,showing those social problems which arise from the rapid economic development in Japan,such as the subjectivity of Japanese society,the issue of community with a shared future and how to establish one’s own existence in the tedious daily life.He extensively absorbed western creative techniques and created works with unique symbolic significance and profound implications based on the times and the cultural characteristics of Japan.He not only bring into play the uniqueness of drama,but also absorbs the peculiarity of western modern drama.By emphasizing the diversification of drama structure and the profound connotation of drama,he expresses the fragmentation and unreality of modern life.From the perspective of explaining the reality,the presentation of the characters and the double discourse space,this paper aims to analyze how Kobo Abe explores the problems of modern society and the drawbacks of traditional spiritual structure in Japan through his drama,puts forward problems and gets involved in the times,explores the spiritual changes of society which brought from the Second World War and the modernization.In this way,explores the uniqueness and epochal nature of Abe’s drama creation and his special position in the history of Japanese post-war drama.On this basis,defines the special status of Kobo Abe in the history of post-war Japanese drama,and the different ways he used to deal with novel and drama,so as to show the different development paths of Japanese post-war novel and drama. |
