With the Belt and Road Initiative and “Chinese-Culture-Going-Global” strategy being put forward,China has been striving to improve its cultural soft power and has been committed to spreading China's excellent traditional culture to the world and bringing Chinese culture into the eyes of more people.Under the circumstances,cultural classics,which is an important part of Chinese culture,is the main force driving Chinese culture out.Therefore,the translation of cultural classics helps foreign readers understand Chinese culture and also contributes to the widespread of the Chinese culture to be worldwide.This report is based on the translation practice of the first two chapters of Chinese Nation and Culture.Under the guidance of Newmark's text type theory,this report explores the translation methods of Chinese contemporary speech and summarizes its applicable translation skills.Newmark divides text types into three main categories: expressive text,informative text,and vocative text.Considering the features of loose sentence structure but coherent content,and more culture-loaded words in the source text,this report mainly analyzes the translation skills adopted in translation from two aspects: informational text and vocative text.It is founded that analyzed from culture-loaded words,sentences and discourses in the informative text,translation techniques such as transliteration with annotation,omission,reformulation,and substitution are adopted;secondly,interrogative sentences,cleft sentences and the subjunctive mood are three special sentences in the vocative text.In the process of translation,to enhance the pertinence and appeal of speeches,translation techniques reconstruction,shift,division and addition are adopted to faithfully convey the original information so as to achieve the purpose of infecting the readers.
