A Report On The Subtitle Translation Of Nostalgia——Xiong'an

In recent years,the term "cultural confidence" has gradually come into people's sight.Chinese around the world have been encouraged by the emergence of this term.The boom of Chinese cultural confidence has also cultivated a stretch of land for the publicity of the excellent Chinese traditional culture.As a micro-documentary recording the long history of Xiong'an,Nostalgia — Xiong'an not only reflects the local culture,but also demonstrates a nation or even a country's ecological geography,material life,folk customs and so on.The ways of thinking,acting and expressing vary from different nation's language,resulting in culture-loaded words and cultural phenomena belonging to their countries.The subtitle translation of the documentary helps to spread excellent traditional Chinese culture and art.This translation report contains five chapters,including task description,translation process description,theoretical basis,case study and conclusion.The case study is the key chapter of this paper.Under the guidance of three rules of Skopos Theory: Skopos Rule,Coherence Rule and Fidelity Rule,the author uses translation strategies such as syntactic linearity,deletion,interlingual translation,intralingual translation,literal translation and free translation to analyze the cases.This translation practice has greatly improved the author's ability to analyze and translate texts,laying a solid foundation for future translation practice.Through the study of documentary subtitle translation,the author expects more scholars to pay attention to the translation of documentary subtitles and hopes this translation report can be a little referential and helpful to the future translation master students and other translation practitioners who participate in the translation of subtitles in the documentary.
