construction of China's cultural power.This paper mainly explains the ideal personality of Confucius and Mencius from four parts:The first part discusses the background of the formation of Confucius and Mencius' ideal personality thoughts,both of which are discussed in the political,economic and ideological background.Confucius lived in the spring and Autumn period when "rites and music collapsed".The rule of the Zhou royal family began to decline,and the world was in chaos.The war continued,the society was in turmoil,and the people lived in hardship.With the continuous development of productivity,the technology of iron plow and cattle farming appeared at that time.The popularization of cattle farming technology in iron plow promotes the continuous development of economy and the development and progress of society.Duringthe spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period,the academic trend of "hundred schools of thought contend" appeared.Under the influence of the ideological change at that time,Confucius put forward the ideal personality thought.Mencius lived in the middle of the Warring States period.All the vassal states carried out the reform of reform.They
