A Study On The Differences Of The Effects Of Narcissistic Personality And Self-affirmation On Self-limitation In Sports Majors Under Success Or Failure

Self-handicapping refers to the use of a series of strategies to protect one's self-worth and self-image in the face of possible failure or dangerous situation,a defensive strategy that avoids attributing failure to a lack of personal competence.There are a lot of researches on self-handicapping abroad,but there are still some problems such as narrow research scope,single method and weak research foundation in China.In this study,behavior experiment and questionnaire method were used to study the self-handicapping of college students majoring in physical education by selecting different questions and feedback,setting up different situations,combining with self-affirmation and narcissistic personality factors,in order to provide a new and more comprehensive perspective for the Study of mental ray of sports majors,we should further explore their self-limiting psychological behavior and its mechanism,at the same time,we hope that the research results can be effectively applied to students' mental health work.This study includes two sub-experiments.Experiment one is to use self-confidence questionnaires and self-affirmation questionnaires to investigate the self-limiting behaviors of sports majors.Experiment two explores the relationship between self-restriction and self-restriction by setting success or failure situation and narcissistic personality questionnaire.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Different types of self-affirmation college students have significant differences in self-limitation(p<0.05): independent self-affirmation> no self-affirmation> interdependent self-affirmation.Self-limitation and total score of narcissistic personality,explicit narcissism Significantly different from implicit narcissism(p<0.001).There are significant differences in total narcissistic personality score,explicit narcissism,implicit narcissism and independent self-affirmation,no self-affirmation and interdependent self-affirmation(p<0.05).The main effect of self-affirmation was significant,different types of self-affirmation had different effects on self-handicapping in different situations: the self-handicapping scores in neutral situations were significantly higher than those in failure and success situations;Regardless of the type of self affirmation,the neutral situation always scored the highest,followed by the failure situation,the success situation self limiting score is always the lowest of the three,F=3.337,p<0.05?(2)The main effect of situational factors is significant.Different levels of narcissistic personality / different types of self-affirmation under different circumstances(neutral,success,failure)can have different effects on self-setting.First,self-affirmation In situations,independent self-affirmation scores are significantly higher than interdependent self-affirmation.In neutral and failure situations,independent self-affirmation self-limiting scores are the highest;at the same time,in all situations,interdependent self-affirmation self The set score is the lowest.Second,under the neutral situation of narcissistic personality,the difference in different narcissistic personality levels is shown in the narcissistic high group> middle group> low group.Under successful circumstances,the narcissistic high group score is significantly higher.In the low group,the middle group score is significantly higher than the low group;in the failure scenario,the high group score is significantly higher than the low group and the middle group,F = 4.668,p<0.001.In the three scenarios,the narcissistic high group scores The upper limit score is the highest,followed by the middle group,and the low group score is the lowest.(3)The main effect of narcissistic personality is significant,which can have a significant impact on self-limitation,i.e.subjects with different levels of narcissistic personality have a significant difference in the effect of self-limitation.In the high group of narcissism,the score of self-limitation in the failure situation was significantly higher than that in the success situation.Among the three different levels of narcissistic personality,the score of self-limitation in the failure situation was always the highest,and the score of self-limitation in the success situation was the lowest except that the level in the middle of narcissism was slightly higher than that in the neutral situation.
