An Experimental Study On Cultural Introduction Approach In The View Of Visual Culture In Secondary Vocational English Reading Teaching

With the development of information technology and mass media,we have come to the "visual culture era",in which visual materials such as pictures,images and animations occupy our daily life.Based on the current situation that secondary vocational school students' English foundation is weak,this paper proposes to apply the cultural introduction approuch in the view of the visual culture in secondary vocational English teaching and hopes that it will be helpful for future teaching.Based on the theory of cross-cultural communication and input theory,this study takes 91 students in class 6 and class 7 in a secondary vocational school as the subjects,and starts a one-semester teaching experiment.This research mainly collects data through tests,questionnaires,interviews and uses the SPSS23.0 software to analyze the date of experiment at the end the semester.This paper mainly solve the following two research questions(1)Can the cultural introduction approach in the view of the visual culture affect vocational students' English reading scores?(2)Can the cultural introduction approach in the view of the visual culture affect the interest of secondary vocational school students in English reading?After the experiment,the changes in student reading scores are compared and the data of questionnaires is analyzed.The results showthat the the cultural introduction approuch in the view of the visual culture applying in secondary vocational English reading class can not only improve the reading scores but also the reading interest of sdudents.It can be seen that the effect of applying cultural introduction approach in the view of visual culture in English reading teaching is objective.
