Rich onomatopoeia cannot be ignored in the Japanese system,but because of its large number and abstract meaning,it becomes a difficult part in Japanese learning Based on previous studies,Chinese Japanese learners are not good at onomatopoeia Even for high-level Japanese language learners,the number of Japanese onomatopoeia which can be accurately understood and used is very limited.This problem became an obstacle in the communication between Japanese learners and Japanese speakers.From the perspective of Japanese learning,onomatopoeia is a very important part of the Japanese system,and using onomatopoeia proficiently can also give Japanese learners a deeper understanding of JapaneseThis study collected the number of onomatopoeia words that appeared in three sets of textbooks,including "New Standard Japanese","New Edited Japanese" and"Japanese Comprehensive Course".After their explanations about onomatopoeia being compared and analyzed,it was found that the descriptions of onomatopoeia in textbooks are inadequate.And in order to research the acquisition of onomatopoeia in Chinese university students who have obtained the N1 qualification,a questionnaire survey and follow-up interviews have been done.From the results,it was found that learners didn't pay enough attention to onomatopoeia,and the accuracy of the questionnaire was generally low.Through the analysis,it is concluded that in addition to its large number,the oversimplification of word meaning understanding,the impact of the mother tongue of Chinese,the lack of clarity of the Japanese dictionary's explanation for onomatopoeia,and the insensitivity of sound symbolism,all of them cause obstacles to the learning of onomatopoeia.Then,based on the difficulty of learning onomatopoeia,this study puts forward suggestions for Japanese textbooks and classroom teaching.It is hoped that textbooks and Japanese teachers can introduce onomatopoeia at the beginning stage to cultivate students' autonomous learning ability,and to introduce onomatopoeia in more detail in the middle and late stages,use a variety of means to help students to have a comprehensive understanding of onomatopoeia and use them proficiently.
