Study on wen yiduo's calligraphy and seal cutting artPick toWen yiduo is a master of literary art who is good at literary exegesis,ancient literature,calligraphy and seal cutting.He was the provost of Beijing academy of arts,the political department of wuhan national revolutionary army,the director of the department of foreign languages of nanjing fourth sun yat-sen university,the dean of the school of literature and the director of the department of Chinese literature of national wuhan university,the dean of the school of literature and the director of the department of Chinese literature of Qingdao university,the professor of the department of Chinese literature of tsinghua university,and the professor of southwest associated university.Wen yiduo inherited his family's education and had a high artistic talent since childhood.However,his artistic talent was overwhelmed by his achievements in poetry and academia.Wen yiduo's seal carving creation began from 1927 to 1947,during the 20 spring and autumn period,but most of his seal carving works were created after 1944.According to statistics,his life painstaking research of more than 1,400 square,Mr.Pursuit of "seal from the book",itsprofound skills in philology,the solid foundation of seal script and its supreme character cultivation,so that it has made some achievements in the art of seal cutting,formed a "vigorous and straight,dignified and honest" art style.Mr.Yi duo also made great contributions to the study of ancient Chinese characters,Chinese classical literature and the education of calligraphy and seal cutting.He has completed such ancient literature research works as "school supplement of chu ci","miscellaneous essays on tang poetry","myth and poetry",and "new classical meaning".He also made critical use of critical interpretation in his study of the book of songs to reverse the way of the qing dynasty,and changed his teachings into poems.This spirit of exploration made him gradually move towards the historical materialism of marxism in the study of the book of songs,ci of chu,tang poetry and ancient myths.In succession recently published a number of books about Mr Calligraphy seal cutting research,in part,by their families,students and friends,more influential is the following a few "wen yiduo's complete works","the art pursuit to beauty:wen yiduo","wen yiduo HuaChuan","wen yiduo biography"(and),"wen yiduo pu ChangBian","wen yiduo print selected".These works are a collation of wen yiduo's calligraphy and seal cutting achievements,which will help us better understand wen yiduo on the road of printing.Through the search of relevant literature,there are 52 pieces of wen yiduo's calligraphy works,561 pieces of seal cutting and 37 pieces of book binding and design,which are all the materials that can be collected at present.On the basis of previous studies on wen yiduo,this paper intends to discuss the following aspects.First,wen yiduo's life experience,from the life of wen yiduo's family and friends to comb hiscalligraphy and seal cutting art process.The second is wen yiduo seal cutting artistic characteristics and the formation of the reasons,mainly from wen yiduo calligraphy seal cutting works to start,specifically from the script,zhang,knife,etc.,and contrast his different periods of calligraphy seal cutting works to intuitively understand the characteristics of his art of calligraphy and seal cutting.The reason of its artistic character formation is explored from the relationship of teacher,rich knowledge and character.Thirdly,it starts from wen yiduo's works and his letters,supplemented by the summary of wen yiduo's book printing theory.To explore the academic achievements of his calligraphy and seal cutting and the significance of wen yiduo's educational concept of calligraphy and seal cutting to the education of contemporary calligraphy and seal cutting.
