In order to explore the specific functions and roles of College Students’ subjective social status between their family Socioeconomic status and explicit aggression, implicit aggression,as well as the relationship between implicit and explicit aggression.Based on the theory of low-status compensation and social comparison, this study is divided into three parts by means of horizontal questionnaire survey and experimental research. The students from freshmen to juniors are tested by means of socioeconomic status questionnaire, college students’ SSS questionnaire, explicit aggressive questionnaire and implicit aggressive IAT.Study 1 mainly explores the role of College Students’ subjective social status between their family Socioeconomic status and explicit aggression;Study 2 mainly explores the role of College Students’ subjective social status between their family Socioeconomic status and implicit aggression, and the relationship between implicit and explicit aggression;Study 3 mainly explores the covariant relationship between subjective social status and explicit aggression, implicit aggression by temporarily manipulating the subjective social status of College students. The results show that:(1)College students’ subjective social status plays a significant mediating role between their family Socioeconomic status and explicit aggression. That is,college students with low family socioeconomic status perceive lower subjective social status, which shows higher explicit aggression.(2)College students’ subjective social status plays a significant mediating role between family socioeconomic status and implicit aggression.Namely, college students with high family socioeconomic status will feel higher subjective social status and have higher implicit aggression.(3)Temporarily manipulating subjective social status has a significant impact on the explicit aggression of College students, while it has no significant influence on the implicit aggression of College students.(4)There is no significant correlation between explicit aggression and implicit aggression. They are two separate psychological structures.Regardless of the direction of the influence of College Students’ subjective social status on both two aggressiveness, there is a significant mediating role between College Students’ family socioeconomic status and both two aggressiveness, which indicates the certainty and stability of the mediating role. The results of this study show that the promotion of College Students’ subjective social status is more conducive to reducing their explicit aggression, which provides some inspiration on how to effectively prevent and reduce the explicit aggression of college students with low family socioeconomic status. In addition, the relationship between explicit aggression and implicit aggression in the results of this study indicates that they may be two different psychological structures. Therefore, even if college students with high family economic status have high implicit aggression, they may not show corresponding high explicit aggression.
