For a long time,reading has always occupied an important position in foreign language teaching.The reading ability of students and the teaching level of teachers have also attracted the attention of the foreign language community.According to the“Ordinary High School English Curriculum Standards”(2017 edition),specifically in reading,students are required to organize their own information,form a new knowledge structure,and thus achieve the ability to understand the meaning expressed in the text.Through extensive research by experts and scholars,it is found that reading is actually an understanding process of acquiring knowledge from reading materials,and also contains a more complicated cognitive process.According to this,scholars focus on reading research.Theoretical research.In view of the above situation,the author believes that it is necessary to conduct an in-depth study of English reading teaching in China.After reviewing a large number of domestic and foreign literatures on schema theory and high school English reading teaching,this paper based on schema theory,through the literature research method,questionnaire survey method and interview method,the current situation of a high school English reading teaching in Xiang tan City The survey explores high school English reading teaching based on schema theory,and applies schema theory to classroom practice through case analysis,aiming to better promote English reading teaching.There are two main problems solved in this thesis: 1)Schema theory can solve practical problems in high school English reading teaching;2)how teachers can guide students to establish and use patterns.The research results show that the application of schema theory to English reading teaching has a positive impact on students' learning ability.This paper improves students by reasonably helping students to consolidate language schema,construct content schema and improve formal schema in reading cases.The reading interest,and greatly improve the students' reading performance and reading level,provides a useful reference for the schema theory to go deep into the high school English reading teaching.
