Multimedia-assisted English reading teaching is a common teaching method,which plays a positive role in improving the effect of language learning and teaching quality.However,multimedia technology is not all-powerful in the teaching and application of assisted English reading.There are also problems affecting teaching.After reviewing relevant literature at home and abroad,the author finds that most researches focus on junior high school,senior high school and university,while there are relatively few studies on the application of multimedia technology in English reading classes in secondary vocational schools.In view of the application of multimedia technology in English reading teaching in secondary vocational schools,this paper explores the problems in the three links of pre-reading,reading process and post-reading activities in English reading teaching.How to put forward the corresponding application countermeasures according to the characteristics of secondary vocational school studentsundefined learning situation in order to improve the effect of learning and teaching has become an important research content in the field of teaching.First of all,the present situation of the application of multimedia technology in English reading teaching is studied by consulting domestic and foreign literature and materials,and then according to the needs of the research,by means of questionnaire and teaching interview,to investigate the status of nursing students of Grade 2017 in Yongzhou Vocational and Technical College,and the problems in the application of multimedia in reading teaching were analyzed in detail.On the basis of constructivism learning theory and aiming at the aid of multimedia technology in English reading class,this paper demonstrates the teaching practice of three links: pre-reading,while-reading and post-reading activities in reading teaching.According to the problems found,this paper collects the learning feedback,reflects on the teaching process and puts forward the corresponding countermeasure.Finally,combined with teaching feedback,this paper analyzes the effect of using multimedia technology in English reading teaching.The results show that by using multimedia technology to assist English reading teaching and combining with relevant traditional reading teaching methods,the improvement of students' overall reading ability and teachers' teaching efficiency is more obvious than that of single multimedia teaching or traditional reading teaching.Therefore,while making great efforts to improve the ability of using multimedia technology,teachers should also adopt reasonable ways to make multimedia teaching be used reasonably in secondary vocational English reading class,and give full play to its advantages to the greatest extent.,and stimulate more students to participate actively in learning practice.At the end of this study,the author puts forward some suggestions on the teaching practice of English reading assisted by multimedia technology,and points out that under the condition of information technology,schools should pay more attention to the improvement of teaching equipment,create excellent teaching platform and multi-level teaching resources,and improve teaching conditions.Teachers should actively improve their application of multimedia technology,in-depth understanding of the relevant learning theory connotation,to help students to carry out effective English reading learning.
