The Track Of Imagination

With the prevalence of fantasy literature in the world,Taiwanese children's fantasy novels have also emerged plenty of good works in the new century.To a certain extent,it represents a part of the modern cultural trends of the era in which we live and reflects the writers' thinking about the process and direction of children's growth through their unrestrained imagination and reflection on reality.We could see that after nearly three decades of hard working,Taiwanese children's fantasy novels have shown their unique style.By observing its development process,we can also shed light on the current characteristics of some Chinese children's fantasy novels.This article can be roughly divided into two parts.The first part is to explore the process of the birth and development of Taiwanese children's fantasy novels from a diachronic perspective and try to summarize its history.The first chapter cuts into the theme of "Children's Fantasy Novels",discusses its definition,historical origin,and the introduction of Western children's fantasy novels to Taiwan from the perspective of publishing.The second chapter displays the text statistics involved in this article,tries to depict the general appearance of Taiwanese children's fantasy novels and summarizes the three different stages towards the development process of Taiwanese children's fantasy novels in the past 30 years.The second part turns from literary history discussion to text discussion.The third chapter first tries to use the representative Western children's fantasy novels as a frame of reference to dig out the traits of Taiwanese children's fantasy novels and discuss them rely on the literal theories of the three elements put forward by Foster.At the same time,text-referential reality also within the scope of this paper concerns.We try to explore the reality problems behind the fantasy world,such as the identity issue of the inhabitants' children,the seeking of the cultural roots under the impact of Western culture and the reflection of the current ecological crisis.
